Injection Molding Machine Operation Precautions

Before Starting the Machine:
(1) Check for any water or oil entry in the electrical control box. If the electrical components are damp, do not turn on the machine. The parts should be dried by a maintenance personnel before starting the machine.
(2) Check whether the power supply voltage is within the acceptable range, generally not exceeding ±15%.
(3) Check the emergency stop switch and the front and rear safety door switches to ensure they are functioning normally. Verify that the motor and oil pump are rotating in the same direction.
(4) Check if all cooling pipes are unobstructed, and pass cooling water through the oil cooler and the cooling water jacket at the end of the barrel.
(5) Check if all moving parts have lubricating oil (grease) and add sufficient lubricating oil.
(6) Turn on the electric heat and heat each section of the barrel. When the temperature of each section reaches the required level, maintain the temperature for a period of time to stabilize the machine’s temperature. The insulation time varies depending on different equipment and plastic material requirements.
(7) Add sufficient plastic to the hopper. Depending on the requirements for different plastics, some materials should be dried before use.
(8) Cover the barrel with a heat insulation cover to save electricity and extend the life of the heating element and contactor.
During Operation:
(1) Do not cancel the function of the safety door for convenience.
(2) Pay attention to the temperature of the pressure oil, and ensure that the oil temperature does not exceed the specified range. The ideal working temperature for hydraulic oil should be maintained between 45~50℃, and generally within the range of 35~60℃ is suitable.
(3) Adjust the position limit switches to avoid collisions during machine operation.
At the End of Work:
(1) Before stopping the machine, clean out the plastic in the barrel to prevent residue from oxidizing or decomposing due to long-term heat exposure.
(2) Open the mold to keep the toggle mechanism in the locked state for an extended period.
(3) The workshop must be equipped with lifting equipment. Be extremely careful when handling heavy components like molds to ensure production safety.
